Chocolate Orange Date Balls

My approach to food is very simple. It should both nourish you and please you. Which is why I’m starting this section with one of my absolute favourite recipes, which will delight any of you with a sweet tooth. These totally delicious little chocolate orange date balls are full of good ingredients, low calorie and contain no refined sugar. You will love them! They also make a great gift boxed up.

Ingredients (makes 30 small balls)

Method

De-stone the dates. Put the dates, cocoa powder, oats, chia seeds and desiccated coconut into a blender. Add the juice of the orange. Blend until well mixed into a thick paste. Divide into 30 balls. Melt the chocolate. Dip the balls into the chocolate using a small spoon and leave to dry on a flat boardon greaseproof paper. Sprinkle with either grated orange rind and / or desiccated coconut. Inhale and devour. Store in the fridge if they last that long… PS. If you want to up the protein content you could add 30g chocolate whey protein, which would add about 3cals and 1g protein to each ball.
